Group Conscience The Hilltoppers Al-Anon Family Group (AFG) is guided by volunteers who compose the Group Conscience. The GC meets regularly to discuss business matters and guiding principles which affect the membership of the AFG. The GC makes every attempt to embody the spirit of Tradition Nine:
"Our groups, as such, ought never be
organized; but we may create service boards or committees directly
responsible to those they serve."

The Hilltoppers Group Inventory
Thanks to all who submitted to the Hilltoppers Group Inventory. This has been an extremely important and enlightening undertaking. Details of the entire inventory are being processed by several members at this time. There is a more detailed version of the following information available on the board in the meeting hall. We hope to expand on this information further before the next Group Conscience meeting.
The following numbers represent an estimation of Hilltoppers meeting attendance and other statisitcs: We offer 9 regularly scheduled meetings per week. By estimation, we appear to have about 150 unique visitors to those 9 meetings. At the time of counting, July 13, 2007, there were 22 chairs in the small meeting room and 41 chairs in the large meeting room. The number of chairs changes, but it can be assumed that if there are people who have to sit on the floor, we are in excess of 20 people in the small room, and we exceed 40 people in the large room. There were 52 usable submissions to the Group Inventory, which was taken during the month of June, 2007. The following represents some of the preliminary results to the Group Inventory:
-
- 47% of the respondents attend 2-3 Hilltoppers meetings per week.
- 40% of the respondents have been attending Hilltoppers for 1-4 years.
- 24% of the respondents have been attending Hilltoppers for 10-20 years.
- 69% of the respondents currently have a sponsor.
- 96% of the respondents report being involved in step study of some sort.
- 45% of the respondents say they do not attend Group Conscience meetings or offer suggestions for improvement.
- 71% of the respondents say they do not volunteer for additional service projects.
- 70-80% of the respondents say they do not repeat or offer criticism for the sharing in meetings.
- 67% of the respondents say they are not currently sponsoring anyone.
- 34% of the respondents are certain that they would be willing to sponsor another member.
